The Irritating Dragon

  1. The article was immaculate and very elaborated about the chinese political history. No doubt by far the best I have come across.
Though admit to disagree in one point that India should change its policy of camarederie towards China. We have been very defensive in our policies even towards Pakisthan also.I see no wrong in India's policy towards strengthning our bilateral relations with china.(though very correcty said that panchsheel was one of the emtionally motivated political decision of nehru). In the wake of the article it is very clear that the author has targetted and trying to cash on the militancy prone areas of our country & tried to evoke their ire againt India, special mention to Assam & Arunachal as well as Bangladesh also since these are neighbouring to China. The whole idea has been to trigger the enimosity of these political outfits like ULFA and even Maoists.
Britishers followed the idea of divide between Hindus and Muslims & now our neighbours are dwelling on the idea of dividing us because of our weak internal policies, the feeling regionalism at the cost of nationalism.
So in my idea if India needs to change anything, its the attitude towards the ever growing millitancy in India and take a very strong stand against them.

  2. Two wrongs dont make a right. The weak foreign policy of India vis-a-vis pakistan is equally unacceptable as its ever compromising attitude towards China. The argument that since India follows a weak foreign policy towards Pakistan, and so by the same logic it should also follow a similar policy towards China does not hold any water
